Hiya, this just a quick round up some of the action of the past few weeks.
There have been a few little surf adventures going down, one of our secret left’s that water quality resembles that of a famous Newcastle beverage. One real good day down the coast at a freight train right where the water has had seventy years of industry and a few body parts of monkeys pumped in to it! And a few sketchy ones on a favorite little slab. Lots of time spent in saunas and smashing in cafĂ© 22 meal deals.
It started a few weeks ago with the look of some promising big northerly swell that should get our brown water gem of a left point to start going. The first day the swell was big onshore rawness. But the next day was canny sick, some long walls and open faces that were so wackable and some fast thick morning pits, not a bad way to start a Monday morning. The boy

s were getting some proper good waves. Photographer and film make Lewis Arnold was down taking some photos as well so keep you peepers open for them shots!
Trev Smeaton and I were all over it one really early morn (still pitch black), we took a nice little drive down to a east coast sucky right hander, on the way we got a little lost in the ghetto streets and projects of Redcar, when we eventually got there and had a look, a head high set pushed thru barrelling off its nut and not a soul in! We got some sick waves, for the first hour there was just three of us in, sets were pushing double over. Trev got some bombs, some power hacks in the pocket and some nice tubes, I got some sweet back hand kegs and wacks, I also got the lip in my jaw on possibly the best wave of my day and slammed the bottom trying to get under it, to the amusement of those watching! Bit of road trip fun at McDonalds on the way back, not cool.
Later in the week it was time for the B.O.P. possible my favourite local wave, the first day it was just me in probably cos it was big and closing oot ,but I give it a shot anyway, it was a good little warm up for the next day.
When the next day came I could not have wanted more, a real good crowd out, sunny, light off shore and we where getting barrelled of our nappers, four hours of slab glory. It was just a bit overhead on most of them and the odd bigger one. I think I did about two turns in four hours it was just barrel town! Aaah it was so good, barrels like 1 0!
Me, Bobby P, Ben, Pete and Moony drove round for two and a half hours lookin for waves and went in at the first place we looked at (standard!!), top to bottom beechy with a bit of punch. mega fun.
That is about it, Sorry about the no patter in this one!!! It was just a quick round up before I go to morocco at the weekend. Should be a class trip some great people going, it’s going to be big time fun!
And the lack of photos it turns out some people work more than me so they can’t take photos all the time…
Keep checking for the next one.
Stay wet and deep.
